This petrified wood slice is a coniferous tree, an Araucaria about 220 million years old from the Petrified Forest National Park in Arizona. This wood slice has been diamond cut, sanded and polished only, not painted. It is the original stone surface, which is extremely scratch resistant. All colors have been naturally created, nothing has been dyed or treated here. The bark structure is still present all around. The colors are completely natural, due to inclusions of iron and manganese. The petrified tree contains all kinds of minerals and quartz gemstones such as agate, jasper, opal, milk opal, carnelian, calcedon, rock crystal, smoky quartz, amethyst as well as calcite.
